Gethsemane Christian Church in Rockford, Illinois, is about doing the work of evangelism. The church makes full proof of the ministry with our community ministry outreach.
The Carpenter's Place
This is our community outreach networking hub where people can come and receive a meal or clothing, as well as to look for a job and find help. This is held every second Tuesday of the month between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Worship and prayer services are part of the program.
Ministering to Women & Children
Our members visit the local Women's and Children's Crisis Center to offer a meal and hold a prayer meeting. This is done every second Saturday from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. We also minister at the Rockford Care and Crisis Pregnancy Center.
Ministry to the Elderly
On the fourth Sunday of every other month, we visit Amberwood Healthcare from 1:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. Our members minister to the elderly residents with prayer, worship, and Bible studies.
Children's Plays
Our church children show their artistic talents with a play celebrating Resurrection Sunday, which is known as Easter, as well as a play celebrating Christmas.
Transportation Ministry
The church provides transportation on Sundays and Wednesdays for people who do not have transportation. Simply contact the church by Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m. if you need transportation so that our drivers can plan their route.
CD Ministry
Never miss a Sunday sermon, or be blessed by reviewing past preaching, with a CD recording of the pastor's message.
Daily Prayer & The Word of the Week
