Word of the Week

When conflict arises be a peacemaker.

If something is wrong, don't wait. Don't ignore it. Call it out. Don't let discontent rise within your circle. Confusion and discord can become contagious and spread. A good model to follow is in Jesus teachings known as the Beatitudes. He is clear that those who show mercy will be shown the same. And he says the pure hearted will see God. He also exhorts the peacemaker and says they will be called children of God. Jesus is saying that true followers of Christ are peacemakers. Being a peacemaker doesn't mean avoiding conflict; peacemakers look for conflict and address it with wisdom so they can bring resolution and peace quickly.

Scripture: Matthew 5:7-9  7Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Prayer: Wonderful God, give me wisdom to know how to handle problems before they spread and affect others. I seek to follow where you lead. I seek to bring peace quickly when conflict arises. In Jesus Name. Amen.
