Pastor Bruce Carter, is a life resident of Rockford, Illinois and shares his testimony of Grace, Mercy and Love from our Heavenly Father through his 24 years of preaching and in his current pastoral leadership at Gethsemane Christian Church, Rockford IL.
Pastor Carter is a loving and exemplary man of God, which is reflected in his marriage of 29 years, three children, two son-in-laws, and five grandchildren. His devotion to God, and his family is a supreme example of faith, love, and integrity. He is an avid scholar of the Bible, a student of Hebrew and Greek Languages, and Retired Professional. Pastor Carter attended Christian Life Bible College in Mount Prospect, IL to broaden his theologian knowledge for preaching the Gospel and leading the flock of God. Through his studies, Pastor Carter has formulated several counseling and Christian course of studies which he freely delivers to local parishioners.
Pastor Carter is a community activist, volunteering and spreading the Gospel of Jesus through several missionary avenues. He serves as a member of the clergy for the Winnebago County Jail ministry, The Carpenter’s Place, and Amberwood Senior Residence Home. He is the founder of “The Word of The Day” a conference call ministry attracting Christians from over 7 states nationally and provinces of China as listeners. Carter has been featured in the Rockford Register Star, as an “Inspiring” man of God and served as Co-host on “Happy Times” Christian Radio Show, SOAR RADIO. He has been selected as Invocation Speakers for local Awards and Sponsors Ceremonies, and has traveled our nation performing Christian ceremonials. Pastor Carter has delivered prolific teaching and preaching messages locally and throughout the nation and was recently honored during the Grammy Award Winner, Yolanda Adams Rockford Christian praise concert for his community service to the Rockford region.
Pastor Carter has a passion for Christian centered marriage and God’s purpose for the family unit. His commitment to counseling families both in marriage and training youth in the ministry of Jesus Christ is indicative of his calling to preach, train, and teach, for the edification of the Saints and for the full work of the ministry in Christ.
He believes in and frequently quotes Proverbs 3:5-6; “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy paths.
